Abstract

The editor pays tribute to Barry H. Leeds (1940–2015), a founding member and the only vice president of the Norman Mailer Society, recalling his career as a teacher and Mailer scholar, his advocacy for launching The Mailer Review, and his editorial help over its first nine years. He also remembers E. L. Doctorow, who edited An American Dream at Dial Press and later gave the keynote address at the Society’s 2005 Provincetown conference, and notes the passing of early Mailer scholar Donald L. Kaufmann.
