An examination of Mailer’s seemingly paradoxical position of “Left Conservatism” that may have its basis in certain mechanisms contained within the problematic concept of “totalitarianism.”

  • Alexandros Mantzaris

    Alexandros Mantzaris was born in Greece in 1980. He holds a BA (Honors) in English and US Literature from the University of Essex and an MSC in English Literature (Writing and Cultural Politics) from the University of Edinburgh. He has also been awarded a DPhil by the University of Sussex (American Studies Department). The title of his thesis was “Treasonous Fictions: (Re)visions of ‘Totalitarianism’ in the 60s Work of Five American Authors.”
