Legs McNeil

Legs McNeil, a rock music critic and oral historian, is co-founder of Punk magazine, one of the first fanzines chronicling the 1970’s New York punk music scene. He is a former senior editor of Spin and the founder and editor of Nerve, an early 1990s publication covering Generation X music and culture. McNeil’s books include Please Kill Me: The Uncensored Oral History of Punk (Penguin Books, 1997) with Gillian McCain and I Slept with Joey Ramone: A Family Memoir (Simon and Schuster, 2009) with Mickey Leigh.
