Abstract

In this comic essay, the director of Etruscan Press imagines a barroom exchange with Mailer’s biographer J. Michael Lennon, John Gardner, and the poet H. L. Hix that sets the attestation of biography against the song of poetry. The essay also appears in Brady’s Phantom Signs: The Muse in Universe City (University of Tennessee Press, 2019).
