Raj Chandarlapaty is Assistant Professor of English at American University of Afghanistan. He is the author of The Beat Generation and Counterculture and has published essays on Amiri Baraka, Norman Mailer, James Baldwin, Allen Ginsberg and Mohammed Mrabet. Dr. Chandarlapaty plans to publish his monograph on the music, film and photography of Paul Bowles in the winter of 2015.
