  • William Crawford Woods

    William Crawford Woods is the author of a novel, The Killing Zone. His short fiction has appeared in Esquire and the Atlantic Monthly, his nonfiction in Harper’s and Rolling Stone. He has been an arts critic for the Washington Post, a screenwriter for Otto Preminger, and a producer for Far East Network, Tokyo. From 1976 to 2002 he served on the faculty of English and philosophy at Longwood College, where he was director of writing programs and a founder of the John Dos Passos Prize. He is currently at work on Three Soldiers: Fathers and Sons and American Wars 1900–1950, a group portrait of several members of his family.
