Abstract

Norman Mailer was leery of e-books. He was right to be. Despite his own foundational belief in equality among people, Mailer had something more important to say than the average person. E-book technology discourages the reading of Mailer because it encourages his would-be readers to self-publish their own books instead. Norman Mailer will little matter in a culture that has non-readers author-tooling advertisements for themselves.
